March 21 7:30-8:30 | Vince Leah Recreation Centre | 2007-2011 |
Registration is now open for Manitoba's only all-girls box lacrosse league.
The league is run by some of the top coaches in the province, including Cory Henkewich, Brett Morrison, John Harding, and Tess Zander. This is the same crew that is coaching Manitoba's U17 Girls Box Lacrosse team at the 2025 Canada Summer Games, and the 2024 U17 and U15 girls box lacrosse Provincial Teams.
The Herd Girls Box Lacrosse Development League will provide a space for girls both new and experienced to develop and play games together. This will give the girls the attention and playing time they deserve to focus on their development in an environment that is fun. New players and experienced players will develop and advance their skills by not only being coached by top level coaches but also playing with other girls and getting more touches on the ball. It is essential for girls to learn to play together and for Manitoba to build all girls' lacrosse programs.
The league will host practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Hazelridge Sports Complex, and on Wednesdays in Neepawa, giving girls across southern Manitoba opportunities to participate. Note that while athletes are more than welcome to attend all three practices per week, there is no expectation that you attend the practices outside of your home region.
Games will be played centrally on Sundays to accommodate athletes from all over.
The league is open to athletes born between 2007-2011.
The U13 program will run on Sundays after the league games and is open to athletes born 2012 and later.
For more information, contact TheHerd@manitobalacrosse.com.
NOTE ON THE REGISTRATION PROCESS: Please register your athlete for the age category that they belong to. All U17 and U15 athletes will be combined into one division. Same goes for U13 and U11 athletes.
